South African teachers are now being trained in computer coding


Since the State of the nation address earlier this year. Cyril Ramaphosa announced that 6 new subjects were being added to the South African school curriculum.The Department of Basic Education has trained over 43 774 teachers in computer skills since the announced reformation at this year’s state of the nation address.

The digital age is well underway

According to business tech:”Minister of basic education,Angie Motshekga,has confirmed that thousands of teachers are currently being trained in coding,with the subject set to be piloted at 1,000 schools across five provinces starting in the 2020 school year.”
